Dr Leslie Ramsammy, the current Advisor to the Minister of Health and former Minister of Agriculture has been named Guyana’s Ambassador-designate to Switzerland.
A release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Friday noted that he will also take up the post as Guyana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva.
Meanwhile, Guyana Sugar Corporation’s (GuySuCo’s) Chief Executive Officer, Sasenarine Singh was named Guyana’s Ambassador-designate to the Kingdom of Belgium.
He will also be appointed Guyana’s Representative to the European Union (EU) and the Organisation of Africa, Caribbean and Pacific States. He will be based in Brussels.
Sasenarine Singh is a Chartered Accountant, Financial Strategist, and newspaper columnist.
They will take up their appointments shortly.
The release also confirmed the appointment of Compton Bourne as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana in Brazil.
Earlier this week, Anyin Choo, Ambassador of Guyana to China presented Letters of Credence to His Excellency Tharman Shanmugaratnam, President of the Republic of Singapore at Istana Presidential Palace of Singapore, accrediting her as Non-Resident High Commissioner of Guyana to Singapore.
