There were long lines at the Iowa State Fairgrounds on Sunday for the Planned Parenthood book sale. Organizers said they expect more than 6,000 people browse through the aisles during the five days. The event has been going on twice a year for the past 55 years. This year, they said they have the most number of items ever. “Some people really find a lot of things and say, ‘Oh, I’ve been looking for that a long time,’” Planned Parenthood book sale volunteer David McFarland said. “There’s a lot of things, sometimes some pretty rare things that you find here.” The book sale continues from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at the fairgrounds 4-H building with all items 75 percent off. The money raised from the sales helps fund various medical services at the Planned Parenthood clinics.
